Arionne Patterson
Arionne Patterson is a graduate student seeking a master’s degree in the Department of Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication at Purdue University. Growing up in a primary agricultural county from Fresno, CA she developed a passion for agriculture at the high school level by attending a college tour. During her time as an Agriculture Business student at Prairie View A&M University, Arionne was recognized as a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) 1890 scholar. Arionne was involved in several government internship opportunities and leadership roles within the agriculture department. Her involvement in Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources Related Sciences (MANRRS) exposed her to various opportunities within the agriculture industry. Arionne states that a graduate education will provide the proper resources, connections, and background necessary to improve the communities in which she will serve.
Arionne serves as a Coordinator for Social Media for the Mentoring@Purdue program. In this role, Arionne manages the design of the social media platform. Arionne research interests focus on providing resources for African American high school students as they prepare and learn more about HBCU College Tours.
