The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CSMI) announces applications for our new Research and Innovation Fellowship. The virtual program is open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at any Minority Serving Institution (MSI) in the United States.
Funded by a grant from VentureWell, the program seeks to engage students in innovative problem-solving strategies on issues vital to their communities, such as, but not limited to, public health, access to new technologies, climate change, educational equity, voting access, or income inequality.

The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) and the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) are partnering to offer the Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Governance Webinar Series, which is funded by a grant from ECMC Foundation. The series is designed to address the key governance and leadership challenges and opportunities faced by MSIs. The series will feature expert insights and practical strategies from distinguished panelists, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of MSI board/president relationships. The webinars are scheduled over a two-year period, focusing on various aspects of board governance, leadership dynamics, and relationship management. Participants who attend all five webinars can earn a Digital Badge from Rutgers University.

CMSI is proud to announce its fourth cohort of MSI Aspiring Leaders. The program consists of a two-day forum – that will be held from Thursday, April 18, 2024, to Friday, April 19, 2024 – and a one and a half-year mentoring program that connects prominent Minority Serving Institution (MSI) presidential leaders with mid-career aspiring leaders in an effort to prepare the next generation of MSI presidents.
