NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., August 29, 2024 – Customized education series will provide practical expertise and guidance to MSI leaders focused on effective board governance.
The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions (CMSI) and the A
ssociation of Governing Boards (AGB) are partnering to offer the Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Governance Webinar Series, which is funded by a grant from ECMC Foundation. The series is designed to address the key governance and leadership challenges and opportunities faced by MSIs. The series will feature expert insights and practical strategies from distinguished panelists, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of MSI board/president relationships. The webinars are scheduled over a two-year period, focusing on various aspects of board governance, leadership dynamics, and relationship management. Participants who attend all five webinars can earn a Digital Badge from Rutgers University.

- HBCU Spotlight: The Roles and Responsibilities of Boards and Presidents

- Moving Forward After Rocky Board/President Relationships.

The MSI Leadership Webinar Series aims to equip MSI leaders and trustees with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate complex governance and leadership challenges, fostering better board-president relationships and promoting overall institutional effectiveness. According to Andrew Lounder, Associate Vice President of Programs, AGB, “By engaging with these webinars, participants will gain practical strategies and a deeper understanding of board governance and leadership dynamics, essential for fostering institutional success.”
Participants who attend all five webinars will have the opportunity to earn a Digital Badge from Rutgers University, recognizing their commitment to professional development in MSI leadership. All workshops are virtual and free to the public.
