Frederick Uy

 Frederick Uy is originally from the Philippines and moved to Tacoma, Washington at the age of 15. He is currently studying at Claflin University pursuing a double major in Finance and Computer Science. Outside of school, Frederick enjoys playing instruments, specifically the guitar, exploring new places through Airbnb’s, doing photography, and watching the financial trends of different stocks. In the future, Frederick hopes to become a financial lawyer and help smaller companies thrive to bridge the gap between different socioeconomic levels. He is looking forward to being a Frederick Douglass Global Fellow and immersing himself in a culture completely different from what he is used to. He is very excited to meet new people, form networks, and further expand his horizons.
