Henry Seyue

 Henry Seyue is a current first-year student at Benedict College and a native of Monrovia, Liberia. His family moved to the United States when he was just a toddler. Upon arriving in America, Henry attended elementary through high school in New Haven, Connecticut. While in high school, he was very active in a variety of organizations. It was in high school that he developed a passion for history, law, and politics. His interest in debate led him to become the captain of his high school debate team. Henry’s interest in politics prompted him to volunteer on the political campaign for Eva Burmudez-Zimmerman who ran for the Lieutenant Governor’s office in Connecticut. His passion for law led him to a paid internship at a law firm during the summer of his junior year in high school. Additionally, he has spent a significant amount of time working inside federal courtrooms through his volunteer work for a youth organization. At Benedict College, Henry is majoring in English and Political Science and is also a Student Ambassador for the Save the Children organization. As an Ambassador, he is able to do what he enjoys and share the mission of the organization with his peers. Soon, Henry will be heading to Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress on behalf of the Save the Children. He is looking forward to traveling, meeting new people, and sharing knowledge with others as a Frederick Douglass Global Fellow.
