Jonathon Pulliam

Jonathon Pulliam is a passionate educator and researcher committed to advancing literacy and educational equity. As a Reading and Literacy PhD student at Alabama A&M University, he delves into the complexities of reading instruction and its impact on historically underserved students. In his role as Assistant Principal at KIPP Nashville Public Schools, Jonathon leverages his research to inform innovative practices and empower educators. His work explores the transformative power of Black male literacy teachers, the unique challenges and opportunities faced by young Black boys in reading classrooms, and the application of evidence-based reading strategies to improve student achievement in the Southern United States.
