Kalue Yang
Born in Thailand and raised in Fresno, California, Kalue Yang is a proud Hmong scholar and first-generation college student. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fresno (Fresno State), where she was a recipient of the President's Honors Scholarship and participated in the Department of Psychology Honors Program.
Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Student Affairs and College Counseling at Fresno State, Kalue serves as an intern academic advisor, providing personalized academic counseling to support students in navigating educational pathways and overcoming challenges. She is also engaged in research on Hmong college student success as a co-principal investigator with Dr. Soua Xiong, complementing her participation in the Fresno State Graduate Equity Fellowship Program and the California State University Pre-Doctoral Program.
Additionally, Kalue serves as a regional ambassador for the Asian Pacific American Network within the American College Personnel Association’s Coalition for Multicultural Affairs. Passionate about equity in education, Kalue is committed to advancing research and strategies that enhance access and success for Hmong students.
