Lauren Viramontes
Lauren Viramontes is a senior at The University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) earning her B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Linguistics. Her primary research interests include the Philosophy of Education and Philosophy of Language. She is a member of the Liberal Arts Honors Program and is working on an undergraduate research project designed to explore children’s autonomy within the framework of Philosophy for Children classes. She has been involved in the “Philosophy for Children in the Borderlands” program for the past two years, teaching classes at the high school, middle school, and preschool levels. Her goals include entering into a Ph.D. program and teaching Philosophy at the university level. She is the mother of two young children and finds the experience of returning to college as a mother to be both challenging and motivating.
