Linda Oubré

Linda Oubre’s career encompasses roles in industry, non-profits, and higher education. After a career as an executive at the LA Times and Walt Disney, she founded BriteSmile, a company that she took public on NASDAQ.  She then entered higher education as a faculty member in several business schools including San Diego State University, UC Davis, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Later, she served for six years as Dean of the College of Business at San Francisco State University, and for five years as President of Whittier College.  In these roles, she was able to improve student completion rates and attract multi-million-dollar donations including a $25 million naming gift for the College of Business at SF State, and a $12 million gift to Whittier College from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. Oubre retired from Whittier College in 2023 and was named President Emerita in recognition of her contributions to the College.

Oubre serves as a Trustee and Board Member of College Futures Foundation (Vice Chair), Jobs for the Future, the Palm Springs Art Museum, and on the Dean’s Board of Advisers for the Harvard Business School.  She also provides strategy and fundraising consulting for organizations in philanthropy and higher education.

Oubre received her bachelor’s degree with cum laude honors in Economics from UCLA, her MBA from the Harvard Business School, and her doctorate in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
