Marlene López Torres

Marlene Lopez Torres is a first-year doctoral student in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Motivated by her experiences growing up in California's Central Valley, her research interests lie in higher education access for rural Latinx students and Ethnic Studies course implementation in high schools. Marlene was recently awarded the Eugene Cota-Robles and Racial Justice Fellowships at UCSB.
